What The Font ?!?!?!?!?

Just got this gorgeous little addition to grace my desk and wanted to celebrate printing and fonts.....No I'm not talking christenings and holy water (You can breath a sigh of relief Tors) I mean Printing Fonts.

Found some wonderful examples in my goodies and they do have great appeal.

Rediscover Beauty

What I have learned from all things Vintage is that something beautiful will endure and sometimes you keep something for one reason and one reason alone......It is beautiful, at least in your eyes. Trust me there are days I look at my children and think 'thank god you are beautiful because right now I'm not feeling the love'.

And so it is with the vintage treasures I come across which often cannot perform their original function but as a 'piece' still have intrinsic beauty and as such should be treasured. Here are my latest examples.

I got these beautiful clock faces at auction. They no longer tell the time but in my book should be coveted for their form, typography, paintwork and fonts.

 

 

 And of course I could not resist this beautiful pendulum weight. That had to come home too !!!!

Give Me Colour !!!!!!

OK what a weird Melbourne week weather wise. Cold, grey, wet and miserable. Just have to pinch myself to remind me this is summer in Australia and not January in England. Thanks for trying to make me feel at home Melbourne but 'Enough Already'. I need an injection of colour to get this New Year off to the right start.



So get ready for an assault on the senses and  a visual colourful feast. Cue (Thanks Jonnie) the colour people.......
